I have a passion for training and developing the next generation of competent, ethical, and enthusiastic social workers. I also know the many challenges facing new social workers within work environments such as: limited access to resources, navigating job expectations, and maintaining work-life balance. As such, I am an advocate for effective, supportive, and timely clinical supervision. I also know what it is like to receive bad supervision and I aim to alleviate that worry from perspective supervisees. Clinical supervision with me involves: active clinical skill learning strategies, resource starter kit & emphasis on self care. I have a wealth of clinical, supervisory, and teaching experiences across 10 years within diverse settings. I have supervised: undergraduate BSW interns, qualified professionals (QPs) as a behavioral health team lead, LCSW-A's, and I have a clinical supervision certificate and training through the National Association of Social Workers. I am excited to share my experiences and partner with you in your development as a licensed clinical social worker associate.Clinical exam preparation is also offered at an additional price, if desired. I would love to answer any questions you may have about clinical supervision or exam preparation as well as address specific needs that you have.

Are you feeling “some type of way” most of the day? Do you make yourself “tired”? Women hold a variety of roles – mother, daughter, wife, sister, friend, girlfriend, employee – roles that must be fulfilled daily. With the variety of roles that women fulfill on a daily basis, it is no wonder that women experience frequent mood swings, emotional roller-coasters, anxiety, and depression. Sometimes we look in the mirror and can’t identify the person that is looking back at us. We can’t seem to remember who we were before we starting sacrificing ourselves to satisfy others. And it just doesn’t seem to be enough.
You want to feel like you did years ago before the disappointment, the guilt, and the overload of responsibilities and obligations became the priority. You want peace, balance, and harmony. You want a life with little to no drama. You Want and DO deserve better. Sometimes, We have to Fight for Her even if we have to Fight Her.
Are you ready to forgive yourself? Forgive yourself for not knowing what you didn’t know before you learned it. — Maya Angelou. Call today to schedule your appointment.

“Courage doesn’t happen when you have all the answers. It happens when you are ready to face the questions you have been avoiding your whole life” —Shannon L. Alder. It takes bravery to open up your heart, mind, and soul to someone in an effort to discover, confront, change or embrace what is inside. I hope to be the person that can join you on your journey of self-discovery and advancement. As a therapist, I help my clients realize their strengths and utilize them to reach their personal goals. I want to help you do the same.

I aim to create a safe space where you can explore your feelings, thoughts and aspirations towards any challenges you may be facing. I help clients who want to feel grounded and whole again but are buried under stress, trauma and life experiences. I guide them through the challenging but meaningful and cathartic process of becoming our authentic selves. *AWOHT is not currently accepting new clients at this time*. Persons who are experiencing any deficit that is impacting their lives, in a negative way are my ideal clients. If you’re interested in making changes to improve the quality of your life, I’m open to challenging you in these areas by providing a safe, non-judgmental, and unbiased holding space to address your self-identified goals.
I work from a strengths-based perspective, allowing individuals to be the pilot of their own lives, navigating the trenches of different terrain, until a safe landing. I utilize an electic style, tailoring each client’s individual needs to the treatment offered. I am well versed in CBT techniques and mindfulness.

“I just can’t deal with all the racing thoughts going through my head”…“I always feel on edge and can’t seem to relax”…” I wish I had an idea of what to do next”…“My spouse and I just can’t seem to get on the same page”…” Balancing work, relationships, & kids is just getting to be too much.” If any of these statements sound like you, it’s OK! We all have times in our life when we feel overwhelmed, stuck, anxious about the future, etc. Sometimes it’s easy to “bounce back,” and we may only need a few extra supports, coaching, or guidance. At other times we struggle & need clinical support to return to wellness. That’s OK too!
Whether you need occasional guidance or more frequent clinical support, I am here to partner with you! Using evidence-based practices and a little creativity, I partner with individuals, couples, & parents to reclaim lost time spent on worry, strengthen relationships, and build the confidence needed to take on whatever life has to offer.
Therapy is unique to each individual and requires a substantial commitment of both the client and the therapist’s time and resources. It may not always be “a walk in the park,” but it is a journey that you will not have to take alone. Get in touch to learn more about me and my approach and see if we may be a good fit. Looking forward to hearing from you!

There are times when it feels like our past won’t allow us to move forward. The inner critic, that negative voice, we hear on the inside, won’t seem to allow us to escape the guilt, shame, or trauma from our past. Making it impossible to make peace with the past we desperately desire to be released from. These feelings create thoughts that we are not good enough and rob us of having joy, confidence, happiness, and healthy relationships. That is where I step in, I work with clients to create a safe space to heal from the past and create a new narrative a new way of thinking, and assist you with you developing positive coping skills.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor with a passion for helping clients release themselves from the painful grips of being stuck in life due to depression, anxiety, trauma, and low-self-esteem.
“Talk to yourself like you would to someone you love.”-Brene Brown. I use a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach and a Dialectical Behavioral approach to Therapy (DBT) to help clients challenge their past patterns and cycles that keep them from living their lives in the way they truly desire and deserve.

I am currently elated to continue to serve the community through my own practice; Ebony Counseling Consulting and Supervision, where I see adolescents, adults, couples and families with empathy, care, compassion, and a side of humor. I am also excited to be a part of the Alaska Psychological Association, serving as the Diversity Chair for its Board of Directors.

I look forward to working with you!

I’m an advocate for self-compassion. I want to help you calm your inner critic and practice more vulnerability and self-acceptance. Working with high anxiety, high achieving individuals and at times being one myself, I have seen that there is no room to be “good enough”. There is a constant struggle between the desire for perfection and a need for rest. Maybe you’re the strong friend or the person everyone goes to for advice. Do your relationships feel one sided or are you the one who always has to compromise and please others? It’s time to change the narrative. You can control your difficult emotions and negative thoughts.
Whether it’s challenging negative thoughts, addressing imposter syndrome, or building your self-esteem, I’m here to help you gain perspective and practice self-compassion. Utilizing a collaborative, recovery-oriented approach, I can help you discover your internal strengths and resources. Together, we will identify and achieve your therapeutic goals.
I want to remind you that your heartaches matter, your pains are valid. You don’t have to be perfect to be okay. I help people make space for their emotions and all aspects of their identity. I’m here to help you work through your anxiety and reclaim your peace.
