About

Growing up in Chicago, I learned quickly that life is happening to all of us whether we like it or not. This laid the foundation of my belief that we are all placed here on purpose, with purpose. There are no coincidences or mistakes; neither the people we meet nor the things that do or do not happen to us. Everything, past, present, and future, is designed to lead us to our purpose. I have chosen to follow the call on my life to helping others, like yourself, examine the lessons of the past & (re)discover parts of themselves that will lead them to living a more purpose filled life.
With over 20 years in psychology, social services, & education, I am well practiced in supporting adolescents & adults who seek to overcome anxiety/depression, trauma, self-esteem issues, men’s issues, family & relationship issues. Though I use an integrated approach, I most often use tools from Solution Focused Brief Therapy & Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
Talking to a therapist isn’t weak. In fact, it is one the best gifts we can give ourselves; especially men and women of color. It’s the opportunity to be honest, to be heard, to be honored, and to heal. If you’re ready to talk, I’m ready to listen. I currently only have evening and weekend hours. Email works best for me. I am also 100% virtual. Peace, Sam
