About

I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and National Certified Counselor with over 10 years of experience in the behavioral health field. I have worked with individuals, couples, families, and groups in a variety of settings, including private practice, community-based settings, and military installations. I attained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from East Carolina University and a Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University.
My counseling philosophy draws from a wellness model and emphasizes individual strengths and community resources. I’m theoretically driven from a person-centered approach and believe in each client’s capacity for growth and change. In addition, I subscribe to Cognitive Behavior Therapy as well as an integrated approach to other theoretical frameworks.
I believe there is no higher calling than walking with people along their path. Some individuals who see me had no hope for ever being happy. To see that hope in their eyes is an amazing gift.
